Digital Future

KIO Data Centers consolidates QRO2 with a $170 million investment and is evaluating an investment of up to $1.3 billion by 2030 to expand its digital infrastructure in Mexico.

KIO Data Centers continues to strengthen Mexico’s digital infrastructure with the consolidation of its Queretaro Mega Campus, where phases two and three of QRO2 have been completed, bringing total investment to $170 million USD and expanding installed capacity to meet growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and mission-critical applications.

This expansion is part of a growth strategy that is already underway. During 2026, KIO will invest more than $200 million USD in the development of new projects in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Queretaro, strengthening the infrastructure that will enable the next stage of the digital economy.

A Stronger Digital Infrastructure

As part of this long-term vision, the company announced that it is evaluating a potential investment of up to $1.3 billion through 2030 to develop QRO3, a project that, with approximately 100 MW of capacity, could become the largest data center in KIO’s history.

Since I Squared Capital became a shareholder in 2022, KIO Data Centers has invested more than $900 million USD in Mexico and Latin America to strengthen its digital infrastructure platform and support the growth of businesses, governments, and organizations that increasingly rely on data- and AI-intensive services.

“Made in México”

During the event, Mexico’s Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, presented KIO Data Centers with the “Hecho en México” distinction, recognizing the company’s contribution to the development of strategic digital infrastructure and its commitment to continued investment in the country.

“As a Mexican company, KIO Data Centers today competes with some of the world’s leading digital infrastructure operators, developing technological capabilities in Mexico for all of Latin America. We are committed to continuing to invest in strengthening the technological capabilities Mexico needs to seize the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and the digital economy,” said Octavio Camarena, CEO of KIO Data Centers.

The Expansion Strategy

The expansion strategy will also contribute to the country’s economic development. By 2030, KIO expects to support the creation of more than 8,100 direct and indirect jobs, while strengthening the development of specialized talent and supply chains linked to digital infrastructure.

With the consolidation of its Queretaro Mega Campus and the evaluation of new expansion projects, KIO Data Centers reaffirms its commitment to continuing to develop world-class digital infrastructure to drive innovation, strengthen Mexico’s competitiveness, and help establish the country as one of Latin America’s leading digital hubs.
