Querétaro, Mexico, December 8, 2025 – KIO Data Centers, a leading digital infrastructure company in Mexico and Latin America, inaugurated Querétaro 02 (QRO2), its newest carrier-neutral data center in the region. With this opening, KIO increases its installed capacity in the country to nearly 19 MW, forming one of Mexico’s most important digital hubs alongside its existing QRO1 facility. This year, KIO delivered 15MW of new capacity in Querétaro in just eight months, one of the fastest execution timelines and unmatched by other operators in Mexico and LATAM.
Reinforcing Querétaro’s Role in Mexico’s Digital Ecosystem
KIO Data Centers was a pioneer in bringing data center operations to Querétaro, and today it reaffirms its commitment to Mexico as a destination for technology infrastructure investment. Querétaro’s proximity to the U.S. and robust interconnection ecosystem make it a strategic nearshore location for companies expanding cloud, AI, and digital infrastructure across North America. Its long-standing presence in the state has contributed to the development of an ecosystem that now hosts some of the most important digital infrastructure projects in the country.
KIO Data Centers has operated in Mexico since 2002 and, since 2007, has driven digital development in Querétaro, one of the strongest digital ecosystems in Mexico. Today, KIO stands as the most emblematic high-tech company founded in the country. With QRO2 now in operation, the new site joins QRO1 to form a strategic hub for critical industries, featuring high-availability infrastructure, carrier-neutral connectivity, and access to global networks that ensure safe and continuous operations.
Supporting Strategic Sectors and High-Demand Workloads
“At KIO Data Centers, we have always had a clear mission: to protect our clients’ most valuable information and provide the infrastructure they need to grow their operations safely. The opening of QRO2 strengthens our presence in Querétaro, where we were pioneers nearly two decades ago, and solidifies the state’s role as a key point in the country’s digital development. This new data center expands our capacity and enables us to continue supporting strategic sectors in their digital transformation with the reliability and professionalism that define KIO Data Centers,” said Octavio Camarena, CEO of KIO Data Centers.
This hub will allow both local and global technology companies, including cloud, digital entertainment, e-commerce, and others, to migrate or expand critical operations in a secure, scalable environment with full redundancy. Global and U.S.-based technology companies are increasingly leveraging Mexico to expand or diversify their North American infrastructure footprint. The expansion responds to the exponential growth in demand for digital services, cloud, cybersecurity, AI, advanced analytics, and storage.
QRO2 was built with the most advanced technology available in the industry, enabling efficient, secure, and uninterrupted operations. Its design incorporates solutions that optimize energy use, reduce environmental impact, and ensure stable performance even under the most demanding workloads. It also features advanced monitoring systems, redundancy, and connectivity to ensure 24/7 uninterrupted operation.
Part of a Broad Regional Interconnection Network
With operations in Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, KIO Data Centers hosts one of the broadest interconnection ecosystems in the region. Its network of data centers enables companies of all sizes to operate with continuity, reduce risks, optimize costs, and access infrastructure that meets the highest global standards.
With these capabilities, QRO2 is positioned as one of the most advanced data centers in the country, strengthening KIO’s mission to enable Mexico’s digital growth with secure, scalable, and professional infrastructure.
